Who’s responsible for getting the bridesmaids dresses?

Will be the Bride & Groom supposed to buy the bridesmaids dresses or are the bridesmaids themselves responsible to buy them?
What if the bride picks out the dress?

BQ- Besides Davids Bridal. Where else can I look both online & in store for wedding dresses?

It usually varies for different weddings, but most have the bridesmaids pay for their own dresses. However, some brides will pay for them. Sometimes, that’s what the bride gifts the bridesmaids instead of jewelry or whatever. The bride always picks out what she wants the girls to wear, the girls just pay for them themselves.

BQ: nowadays, just about any bridal shop is online as well. You can check the local bridal shops in your area to see what they have or what they can order. There is also the choice of going out of state to bigger shops-like Klienfield/Say Yes to the Dress shop-and see what they have. I’m pretty sure they have a site too.

In the US, it is customary the wedding party pick up the expense for their outfits.

It is my opinion, that she who picks the dress should pay for it.

Why should your bridesmaid pay for a dress of YOUR choosing, that she will wear one time for YOUR day. Sounds like a wedding expense to me, and those fall on the bride and groom.

On the other hand, if your bridesmaids can pick their own dresses, it makes sense they pay for it.

It actually depends on the wedding. Some have a low budget and can not afford to buy so many dresses. Others have enough money and buy them. i have seen some situations where the bride tells the bridesmaids what dress and where to buy them. I have also seen the bride buy everything for the bridesmaids. Except makeup, hair ,and accessories. I think its better for the bride and groom to buy the dresses. Good luck and best of wishes!!
